About this opportunity

Community Connector

Contract Position, ~20 hrs/week

Looking for people in these following cities:

NYC, Boston, Chicago, Tampa Bay / St. Pete, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland (OR).

Soil. Soul. Storytelling.

At Tractor, we’re not just serving up organic drinks—we’re sowing the seeds of Soil & Soul. Born from the soil, our mission is simple: what’s good for the land is good for everyone. Through the Cover Crop Program, we’re going deep in 11 cities, establishing relationships with key players (also known as our Soil Mates) in the soil community, and partnering with like minded brands that are committed to the earth beneath their feet and the food on their plates.

The Role: Community Connector

Tractor is seeking a Local Community Connector to drive brand awareness, spread the Soil & Soul Message and cultivate community engagement in the above cities. You will be the eyes and ears of Tractor in your market.

Your job is to understand the heartbeat of the city and find authentic ways for Tractor to become part of it. You’ll build relationships, create experiences, uncover stories, and develop a localized calendar that puts Tractor in the places and conversations that matter. One day that might mean partnering with an urban farm or community garden. Next, it could be a block party, chef collaboration, music event, neighborhood market, run club, art opening, cultural festival, or an idea we haven't thought of yet.

A successful candidate knows the market they live in beyond the obvious places. You understand its neighborhoods, people, culture, food, and emerging scenes. You can talk shop with an urban farmer, food with a chef, ideas with a creative, and Tractor with someone who has never thought twice about organic agriculture.

You’re curious, connected, resourceful, and great with people. Most importantly, you know the difference between simply showing up somewhere and actually becoming part of a community. You’ll help us take a mission rooted in organic agriculture and make it meaningful to a much broader audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Bring Tractor into the mainstream conversation. Find the people, partners, places, and cultural moments that can introduce Tractor to a much larger audience without losing the agricultural roots that make us different.
  • Support the business by nurturing relationships with our partners in foodservice and retail.
  • Build relationships with brands that move culture. Identify and develop partnerships with homegrown brands that have grown into national voices. Develop a deep understanding of the businesses, founders, creatives, organizations, institutions, and communities influencing where your city is headed.
  • Identify and develop relationships with homegrown restaurants, retailers, and third places, driving national business development from a local level.
  • Turn partnerships into experiences. Work with Tractor's Community and Creative teams to bring collaborations to life through events, content, sampling, storytelling, and more.
  • Find and tell the stories behind it all. Surface the farmers, founders, chefs, creators, businesses, and community leaders whose stories connect culture back to the land. Help Tractor tell those stories in a way that resonates far beyond the agriculture community.
  • Share your experiences through Field Reports, keeping the Tractor team connected to what is happening in your community.

Who You Are

You aren’t the one planning the potluck —you’re the host. We’re looking for someone who sees possibility where others see obstacles and thrives on human connection.

  • A natural connector. You know people across different corners of your city and genuinely enjoy bringing them together.
  • Culturally curious. You have your finger on the pulse of what’s happening locally—from food and music to art, wellness, nightlife, neighborhoods, and emerging communities.
  • Comfortable crossing worlds. You can spend the morning at an urban farm, the afternoon meeting a local business owner, and the evening at a packed cultural event, while feeling at home all day.
  • Organized and reliable, able to manage the logistics of multiple events simultaneously while staying on message and on budget.
  • Creative and resourceful, turning constraints into catalysts for brilliance.
  • You care about food, community, sustainability, and creating a healthier relationship between people and the land—even if you don't consider yourself an agriculture expert.
