About the role:

CGTN America is seeking a Multimedia News Editor for its Mandarin-language news team. The successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to independently draft, edit, and revise Chinese-language news scripts and digital news copy. • Develop original Chinese-language news stories, scripts, headlines, and digital news copy based on interviews, reporting materials, and verified sources.
  • Independently write Chinese-language news stories and scripts from initial drafts through final, broadcast- or publication-ready versions; edit, rewrite, review, and fact-check copy for accuracy, clarity, structure, grammar, and editorial style.
  • Work with correspondents and producers to align Chinese-language scripts, video footage, sound, and graphics into coherent news stories.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom, meet tight deadlines, follow editorial workflows, and collaborate across teams.
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong visual sense, including composition, lighting, and storytelling.
  • Basic understanding of live video production, camera settings, lighting, and audio.
