About this opportunity
Maintenance Planning & Projects Manager
Gold Aviation Services is hiring a Maintenance Planning & Projects Manager to plan, forecast, and schedule maintenance across our managed fleet, so every aircraft is ready when its owner needs it.
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (KFLL), on-site
Type: Full-time, exempt
Fleet: Embraer Phenom 300/300E and Praetor 600
Position summary
This role turns maintenance capacity into scheduled, completed, and forecasted work. You will own the planning side of the department: work orders, the maintenance schedule against the flight schedule, parts and lead times, vendors and MROs, CAMP forecasting, and owner maintenance forecasts. You will also run special projects such as refurbishments and avionics upgrades from scope to delivery.
Key responsibilities
Planning and scheduling
• Build and manage work order packages for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Set the maintenance schedule against the flight schedule, working with Operations and Charter to protect aircraft availability.
• Track planned versus unplanned work and push the share of scheduled maintenance up over time.
Parts, tooling and vendors
• Own parts and tooling requirements and lead times so work starts on time.
• Select vendors and MROs, obtain and compare quotes, and hold shops accountable to their quoted turn times.
Forecasting and reporting
• Use CAMP for forecasting, compliance reporting, and management reporting - not only tracking.
• Build and maintain a 12 to 24 month maintenance forecast for each aircraft, with cost estimates.
• Identify significant maintenance events early and communicate them clearly to aircraft owners.
Capability and special projects
• Plan which maintenance work comes in-house, in what order, and what each step requires in people, tooling, training and budget.
• Run special projects, including interior and exterior refurbishment, avionics and connectivity upgrades, and paint. Own the scope, vendor, budget and downtime window for each, through completion.
Required qualifications
• 5+ years in maintenance planning, maintenance control, or technical records for business or transport category aircraft.
• Experience running maintenance planning and customer maintenance forecasting at an OEM, an MRO, or a large flight department.
• Working knowledge of CAMP or a comparable maintenance tracking system, including forecasting and reporting.
• Experience managing vendors and MROs, including quotes, scope, and turn-time accountability.
• Clear written and verbal communication with owners, vendors, and leadership.
• Comfort building budgets and cost forecasts for maintenance events and projects.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience with Embraer Phenom 300/300E or Praetor 600 maintenance programs.
• Project management experience on refurbishment, avionics, connectivity, or paint projects.
• Part 91 and Part 135 managed fleet experience.
• A&P certificate or a hands-on maintenance background.
What we offer
• Competitive salary, based on experience
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Short term and long-term disability coverage
• 401K 100% company match up to 3.5% of employee’s salary
• Uniform shirts
• Cell phone allowance
• PTO/Sick Leave
