Aurore French Bakery brings authentic French pastries, breads, and café culture to Bozeman.

Our pastry case and our sandwiches are the first things our guests see. We're looking for a Pastry Assistant who loves the precision of French pastry and puts the same care into a perfect sandwich.

About the role

Your days split between pastries and sandwiches: baking and finishing our French pâtisseries, and making fresh sandwiches for our guests. It's hands-on, fast-paced, detail-driven work in a small team that takes pride in doing things right.

What you'll do

• Make our French pastries from scratch: tarts, éclairs, macarons and seasonal specials
• Prepare and assemble our sandwiches fresh
• Make the sauces and creams for all our bakery items, prep fillings and sandwich ingredients ahead
• Follow our recipes precisely, and help create new pastries and seasonal sandwiches
• Track stock, label and rotate ingredients, and flag what needs ordering
• Keep your station clean and organized, and follow food safety standards
• Work closely with the bread team and front of house so everything is ready on time

Schedule

• Tuesday to Saturday
• 4:00 AM to about 12:00 PM (around 40 hours a week)
• Full-time, year-round (not seasonal)

What we're looking for

• Pastry experience is a plus, not a must. We'll train the right person, and culinary school graduates are welcome.
• Precision and consistency: your fiftieth macaron looks like your first
• Reliable, punctual and calm under pressure
• Coachable and open to feedback
• Kind and respectful with your team
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and stay on your feet for a full shift
• Curious about French baking and culture

• Prefer a slow pace or don't enjoy detailed, repeated work
• Can't commit to early mornings or Saturdays
• Struggle with structure, recipes or teamwork
• Aren't looking for a long-term role
