Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient VFX Editor to join our post-production team. In this role, you will act as the vital communication bridge and workflow anchor between our creative editorial team, the VFX Supervisors, and external VFX vendors. You will manage the entire lifecycle of a visual effects shot—from initial temporary mockups and vendor turnovers to tracking iterations and cutting final frames into the master timeline.

Core Responsibilities

  • Timeline Management: Integrate temporary mockups, progressive vendor versions, and final VFX elements cleanly into the master edit timeline
  • VFX Turnovers: Prepare, check, and export precise EDLs, XMLs, raw plates, audio references, and detailed tracking sheets for vendor handoffs
  • Database & Shot Tracking: Maintain a meticulous shot-tracking database (e.g., ShotGrid/Flow Production Tracking) monitoring frame counts, handles, and version histories
  • Temp VFX Creation: Generate temporary comps, split screens, speed ramps and green screens is a plus
  • Quality Control: Conform incoming VFX frames to verify accurate line-up, resolution, color space mapping, and frame-rate consistency

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Mastery: 3+ years of professional experience as a VFX Editor or Assistant VFX Editor using DaVinci Resolve and Nuke Studio
  • VFX Pipeline Knowledge: Deep familiarity with compositing workflows (Adobe After Effects, Nuke), file formats (EXR, DPX, ProRes), and color pipelines (ACES, LUTs)
  • Meticulous Organization: Extreme attention to detail regarding frame-accuracy, timecode math, and complex folder structures
  • Clear Communication: Ability to articulate technical pipeline bottlenecks to creative teams and translate creative feedback into actionable technical instructions
  • Platform Experience: Hand-on experience with production tracking software such as ShotGrid/Flow, or equivalent data management tools

Preferred Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on project scale and experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance package
