Civil Litigation Attorney | Chicago / Schaumburg, IL

Our client, a respected, client-focused Illinois law firm, is hiring a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. The start date is ASAP, and the firm is moving quickly.
About the Role
You will handle a full docket of business and commercial disputes, with real responsibility from day one. You will work closely with partners and directly with clients.
Practice areas include:
- Business and commercial litigation
- Construction disputes
- Real estate litigation
- Contract disputes
- Complex probate and estate litigation
Requirements
- J.D. and active Illinois law license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of civil litigation experience, preferably more, in business, construction, commercial, real estate, contract, or complex probate matters
- Hands-on experience in pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
- Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills
- A track record of stable, progressive career growth
- Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
Location & Schedule
- Offices in downtown Chicago or Schaumburg, IL, with your choice of office
- Onsite for the first 90 days, then hybrid
Compensation
- Base salary: $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience. The top of the range is for attorneys with 5+ years of significant, directly relevant litigation experience.
- Bonus: 15% bonus upon reaching 1,800 billable hours
- 1,700 annual billable hour expectation
Interview Process
- Initial Zoom interview with a partner
- In-person interview with two partners and the client contact
- A summary of your relevant litigation experience
- Preferred office (Chicago or Schaumburg)

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 – $150,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
