SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

Location: New York City, Manhattan

Position: Full-Time | In-Person

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with experience

About the Position

Reem Acra, an internationally recognized luxury fashion house specializing in bridal couture and eveningwear, is seeking a highly experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to oversee the company’s daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive bookkeeping experience within the fashion and apparel industry, preferably bridal, couture, luxury fashion, or made-to-order manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage daily bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

● Track client deposits, installment payments, outstanding balances, and final payments for made-to-order garments.

● Monitor production expenses, fabric purchases, embroidery, trims, and garment costing.

● Maintain accurate financial records for wholesale, retail, and direct-to-consumer transactions.

● Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.

● Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate collections.

● Oversee payroll-related bookkeeping and expense reporting.

● Prepare monthly financial reports, cash-flow summaries, and reconciliations.

● Track inventory-related costs and coordinate with production teams.

● Work closely with outside accountants on tax preparation and year-end reporting.

Qualifications

● Minimum 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience; 10+ years preferred.

● Experience in fashion, apparel manufacturing, bridal, or luxury retail strongly preferred.

● Strong understanding of made-to-order production, client deposits, inventory, and costing.

● Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks andMicrosoft Excel. Experience with Shopify, A2000, or Apparel Magic a plus.

● Experience with invoice processing.

● Comprehensive knowledge in managing accounts receivable, chargebacks, aging reports, and collections processes.

● Experience with domestic and international vendors.

● Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and financial accuracy.

● Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities.

● Bachelor's degree, CPA Certified a plus
