Tax Manager / Tax Supervisor (Hybrid/Multiple Locations)
Location: Multiple Offices (NorthWest Chicago, West Chicago, and SouthWest Chicago)
Compensation:
Tax Supervisor: $110K-$130K base, DOE+ bonus + paid OT over 40 hours at 1.5x pay
Tax Manager: $130K-$170K base, DOE + bonus + Partner Track
55 Hour Work Week MAX during busy season!
About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing regional public accounting firm seeking a Tax Manager or Tax Supervisor to join their team. This role is focused primarily on business taxation, including the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and S-Corporation returns. The firm offers strong mentorship, exposure to complex client engagements, paid overtime, competitive compensation, and a clear path for growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review business tax returns, including C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and Partnerships
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching and technical guidance
- Research federal and state tax issues and assist with tax planning projects
- Manage multiple engagements and ensure deadlines are met
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships
- Participate in tax planning, compliance, and consulting engagements
- Assist with staff development and workflow management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred or in progress
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and client service skills
Preferred Experience
- Corporate, partnership, and pass-through entity taxation
- Multi-state tax exposure
- Experience mentoring or reviewing staff work
- Experience within a public accounting environment
