About this opportunity

The Laboratory of Prof. Kelvin Davies in the Department of Urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine invites applications from highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows interested in pursuing innovative, translational research at the intersection of diabetes, urogenital physiology, molecular mechanisms, and therapeutic development.

Our research program seeks to understand how type 2 diabetes (T2D) causes urogenital dysfunction and to translate these discoveries into new therapeutic strategies. Postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to join a project investigating the effects of T2D on urogenital physiology, identify the molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes-associated complications, and evaluate novel therapeutic approaches using topical nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems in a well-established rat model of T2D.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on research with potential clinical relevance and therapeutic impact, while developing expertise in experimental physiology, molecular biology, animal models, and translational research.

We are seeking creative, motivated, and collaborative scientists who are committed to developing an independent research career. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. in physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable; animal models and in vivo experimentation, cellular and molecular biology, uogenital physiology or urology, omics approaches, and data analysis.

The Davies laboratory is fully supported by federal and institutional funding, providing a stable, well-resourced environment for conducting innovative research and developing the skills needed for a successful independent scientific career.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine provides a highly collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment. Fellows will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities, advanced research technologies, expert mentorship, and career development resources.

Applicants should submit the following materials as one PDF document:

  • Brief CV (maximum 3 pages)
  • One-page research statement describing previous research accomplishments, current research interests, and career goals
  • Contact information for three professional referees

Salary and Benefits: $65,000–$75,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus benefits. The salary offered for this position is above the applicable NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines, providing competitive compensation.
