About this opportunity

Sky Staff, LLC ("Sky Staff") is hiring a Superintendent to lead field operations for our client in the Denver, CO metroplex. We provide long term employment, excellent benefits, training, and career development while assigning employees to affiliated operating companies based on project and business needs. Our culture is values led, professional, accountable, and respectful of employees of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Position

We are looking for an impact player: a Superintendent who leads from the front, holds the field accountable, and takes personal ownership of safe, on-time, on-budget delivery in environments where patients, staff, and clinical operations cannot be disrupted.

This role suits a field leader who wants regional responsibility and a clear path to General Superintendent or operations leadership.

The Superintendent is responsible for the safe, productive, and compliant execution of assigned healthcare projects, from mobilization through substantial completion, commissioning, and closeout. This position works closely with project management, preconstruction, trade partners, owners, facility staff, infection control, design teams, and authorities having jurisdiction. This is a high accountability environment. Successful candidates plan their work, meet commitments, maintain clean documentation, communicate problems early, and protect the patients, staff, and operations of the facilities we build in. Night and weekend work is required for shutdowns, tie-ins, and occupied-facility phasing.

Project assignment within the territory is based on active work, candidate location, and business need. Regional travel and periodic overnight stays may be required long term.

What we do:

• Ground-up healthcare facilities, medical office buildings, and outpatient centers.

• Renovation and expansion inside occupied hospitals and clinical environments.

• Design Build, CMAR, GMP, negotiated, and competitive delivery.

Key responsibilities

Safety and infection control

• Own site safety: orientation, daily huddles, hazard analysis, inspections, and corrective action.

• Implement and police ICRA and ILSM requirements, containment, negative air, pathways, and interim life safety measures.

• Protect patients, staff, and visitors from noise, dust, vibration, odor, and access disruption.

• Stop work when conditions are unsafe or containment is compromised.

Field execution

• Plan, sequence, and direct daily construction activity and trade partner crew levels.

• Maintain the short interval schedule and drive recovery when activities slip.

• Verify layout, quality, workmanship, and installation against drawings and specifications.

• Manage material deliveries, laydown, hoisting, temporary utilities, and site logistics in constrained campus environments.

Coordination and documentation

• Lead weekly trade coordination and pull planning sessions.

• Maintain daily reports, crew counts, photographs, delay records, and as-built markups.

• Identify and document conditions that affect cost or schedule as they occur.

• Support commissioning, inspections, punch list, turnover, and warranty.

Shutdowns and occupied work

• Plan and execute utility shutdowns, tie-ins, and phased occupancy with facility staff.

• Sequence work around clinical schedules, including nights and weekends when required.

• Communicate disruption clearly and early to facility stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required experience and capability

• Five or more years as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent with a commercial general contractor or construction manager.

• Demonstrated healthcare construction experience, including work in occupied facilities.

• Working knowledge of ICRA, ILSM, life safety, medical gas, and clinical systems coordination.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings.

• Proficiency with Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and Microsoft 365.

• OSHA 30 required or obtained within ninety days of hire.

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as company truck may be provided.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

• An equivalent combination of field, trade, and project experience will be considered.

Preferred experience

• Ground-up healthcare, acute care, surgical, imaging, or behavioral health.

• Large renovation or expansion inside an operating hospital campus.

• ASHE Health Care Construction certificate, ICRA training, CHC, or LEAN credentials.

• Experience across multiple states a bonus.
