Cognitive/Behavioral Neurologist

The Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC)—a major academic medical center within the Hackensack Meridian Health network—is seeking full-time BE/BC Cognitive / Behavioral Neurologists to join the Center for Memory Loss & Brain Health.

We are looking to fill both junior and senior positions, with the Senior-level candidate serving as Center Co-Director.

Qualifications & Academic Details:

• Completion of a Neurology residency and a UCNS accredited Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry fellowship.
• Interest in outcomes research, basic & translational research, clinical trials, and teaching (medical students, as well as neurology, psychiatry, and geriatrics residents).
• For the Senior Role: Candidates must show clinical, programmatic, and academic leadership experience.
• Note: Roles at the Dementia Center and faculty rank at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine are commensurate with experience.

Clinical Focus & Our Approach:

• Patient Focus: Patients at risk for dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia.
• Interprofessional Care: The Center espouses a collaborative approach including neurologists, geriatricians, psychiatrists, neuro- & health psychologists, social workers, & rehab therapists.

• CMS GUIDE Program: We are a proud site in this alternate payment model, providing comprehensive dementia care to patients & caregivers living in the community to help improve outcomes like ED visits, hospitalizations, and long-term placement.

• Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD: Professor & Chair of the Neuroscience Institute & Department of Neurology at HUMC & the School of Medicine.
• Manisha Parulekar, MD: Director, Division of Geriatrics at HUMC & Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the School.

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The minimum base salary for this position is $258,056.
