Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst will support Client’s Resources Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Tech Stack Strategy (application Tech Stack data collection) initiatives by driving the collection, analysis, governance, and reporting of application and technology stack data across the enterprise. This role serves as a key liaison between application owners, technology stack owners, architects, product teams, and leadership to build and maintain a comprehensive technology portfolio that enables informed decision-making, modernization planning, cost optimization, risk management, and technology rationalization efforts. The analyst will be responsible for gathering portfolio data, validating technology inventories, mapping dependencies, assessing business value and technical health, and developing actionable insights that support strategic technology investments and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the application portfolio and technology stack data collection efforts through structured assessments, surveys, interviews, workshops, and AI-assisted data gathering tools.

• Partner with application owners, tech stack owners, architects, and business stakeholders to collect, validate, and maintain accurate portfolio information.

• Analyze application and technology stack inventories to identify redundancy, modernization opportunities, technology risks, technical debt, cost optimization opportunities, and consolidation candidates.

• Maintain portfolio reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and executive summaries using Power BI, Excel, SQL, and other analytics tools.

• Assist with technology dependency mapping, ownership validation, lifecycle assessments, and capability alignment analysis.

• Support application rationalization efforts utilizing industry-standard frameworks such as TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, Eliminate).

• Facilitate Tech Stack Strategy assessments and guide stakeholders through questionnaire completion and data validation processes.

• Collaborate with ServiceNow, CMDB, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Product teams to ensure portfolio data accuracy and governance.

• Develop and maintain business process documentation, portfolio standards, data dictionaries, taxonomy definitions, and operating procedures.

• Perform data quality reviews and establish controls to improve accuracy, completeness, and consistency of portfolio information.

• Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and technology cost modeling to support investment and retirement decisions.

• Support ongoing portfolio governance processes, including annual reviews, ownership certifications, health assessments, and portfolio audits.

• Leverage AI, automation, and analytics capabilities to improve the efficiency, scale, and quality of technology portfolio management processes.
