We’re hiring a Senior Acoustical Engineer/Consultant to join our Hawaii office in Kailua, on the island of O‘ahu. This is an opportunity for an experienced, client-focused consultant to lead technical work, manage multiple projects at once, and grow toward management within a firm known for acoustical engineering, theatre, and audio-video consulting—while enjoying near-perfect weather and a true island lifestyle. All applicants authorized to work in the USA are encouraged to apply. We will provide relocation assistance to the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide senior-level acoustical consulting and design services across multiple concurrent projects
  • Perform field measurements and analysis for room acoustics and acoustical performance
  • Develop recommendations for:
  • Room acoustics
  • Airborne and structure-borne sound insulation
  • HVAC noise and vibration control
  • Conduct environmental noise assessments, including development of practical noise-mitigation recommendations
  • Produce and review design documents and technical deliverables
  • Coordinate acoustical design details with architects, engineers, theatre consultants, and other project team members
  • Establish acoustical criteria for a variety of facility types
  • Lead and support client communication, including site visits, expectations, and deliverable coordination
  • Contribute to proposal development for new work
  • Use AutoCAD and/or Revit (working knowledge preferred) and standard acoustical test/measurement tools
  • Bring strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in all deliverables

What We’re Looking For

  • BS or MS in engineering or a closely related field with acoustics focus
  • Minimum 5+ years of acoustical consulting experience (senior-level experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with sound level instrumentation and measurement practices
  • Strong skills in writing, documentation, and client-facing communication
  • Outgoing, relationship-oriented style with the drive to grow and expand our client base through direct outreach, networking, and strong service
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to learn and mentor others
  • Some travel expected, primarily inter-island
