About CERA Ear Clinic

CERA Ear Clinic is Chicago's first dedicated earwax removal clinic. We provide microsuction earwax removal, ear evaluations, complex ear treatment, and foreign object removal for adults and children.

Our clinic days are fully booked, and this is our first provider hire. In 2027 we will move to a larger office that will enable more schedule flexibility.

The role

You will start alongside founder Wendy Dobie, PA-C, during a structured onboarding period. After onboarding, you will run your own clinic days independently.

• Perform microsuction earwax removal
• Complete ear evaluations and explain physical exam findings
• Educate patients on home cerumen management
• Manage complex cerumen impactions and outer ear infections
• Remove foreign bodies from the ear canal in adults and children
• Recognize findings that need further care and refer appropriately
• Document each visit in our electronic health record

• Patient care only. CERA is fully cash-pay, with HSA and FSA accepted. No insurance billing, no prior authorizations, and no non-clinical duties.

• Hands-on onboarding. Train side by side with the founder on CERA's protocols before running solo clinics.

Growth in pay and responsibility

You are our first hire, and this role is built to grow with the clinic.

• Pay: A production share means your earnings rise with your patient volume, on top of base salary.
• Responsibility: As we add clinic days, providers, and space, this role has a clear path to lead provider. That includes training new clinicians and shaping clinical protocols.

Schedule

• 10-hour shifts, up to 4 days per week
• Flexible on days of the week; we will add clinic days around the right candidate's availability
• Full-time providers work every third Saturday
• Part-time: 2 or 3 days per week

Compensation and benefits

• Full-time (4 days/week): $120,000 base salary, plus a production share and a quality bonus. Expected compensation is ~$135,000, and $147,000+ with strong performance.
• Part-time (2–3 days/week): Base and bonuses prorated by days worked.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active Illinois PA license and current NCCPA certification
• 3+ years of ENT/otolaryngology experience as a PA, specifically otology.
• Comfortable treating pediatric patients, including foreign body removal
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their conditions and treatments.
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA regulations
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in an outpatient setting

Preferred

• Microsuction or microscope-guided cerumen removal experience (we train on CERA's protocols)
• A second language
