Senior Art Consultant

Location: Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona

Position: Full-time, on-site

An established art gallery in Old Town Scottsdale is seeking a Senior Art Consultant to grow art sales and build lasting relationships with collectors. This is a client-facing role for someone who enjoys learning what people love, helping them discover the right artwork, and staying connected long after a purchase.

The ideal candidate brings strong sales experience, genuine enthusiasm for art, and the confidence to work with both first-time buyers and established collectors.

What you’ll do

• Guide clients from their first gallery visit or inquiry through artwork selection, purchase, installation, and follow-up.
• Build and maintain relationships with collectors, interior designers, art advisors, and referral partners.
• Generate new sales opportunities through outreach, private appointments, exhibition previews, events, and consistent follow-up.
• Learn the gallery’s artists and available works in depth, and communicate each artist’s story and approach in a compelling, approachable way.
• Understand clients’ interests, spaces, and collecting goals to recommend artwork that fits their needs.
• Manage inquiries, client records, sales opportunities, and follow-up activity in Artlogic.
• Work with ownership to establish individual sales goals, review progress, and identify opportunities for new and repeat purchases.
• Visit clients’ homes or businesses with the gallery’s Installation Specialist for onsite approvals. 
• Provide a warm, attentive experience to gallery visitors and support collector appointments, exhibition previews, and events.

What we’re looking for

• At least five years of experience in an art gallery. 
• A demonstrated ability to develop client relationships, manage a sales pipeline, and close sales.
• Confidence discussing artwork with clients at different stages of their collecting journey.
• Strong listening, communication, organization, and follow-through.
• A self-directed approach to prospecting and relationship building.
• Experience with Artlogic is a plus.
• Seeking to build a long-term career in the art gallery industry, with a genuine interest in developing expertise in art sales and collector relationships.
• Availability to work on-site in Old Town Scottsdale from Tuesday through Saturday and Artwalk Thursday nights.
