About Flourish Wellness

Flourish Wellness is a trauma-informed, strengths-based group practice dedicated to helping clients move through challenges and build lives they can thrive in. We specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults (ages 5–35) navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and every clinician here brings their own specialties to the team.

As a small and collaborative team, we value creativity, compassion, and connection — both in our client work and in supporting one another as clinicians. We believe in protecting clinician well-being, fostering growth, and creating a professional home where therapists can thrive long-term.

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed or associate-level therapist to join our team as a part-time independent contractor (1099). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality outpatient counseling services with a focus on trauma treatment. (EMDR training is strongly preferred.) This role requires a deep understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with disabilities.

The clinician will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, and facilitating therapy sessions aimed at improving clients' mental health and overall well-being. This role includes taking on existing trauma clients during a planned practice transition, supported by a structured onboarding period, and continuing to grow a trauma specialty within the practice. Because of this, we are seeking a clinician with established trauma and EMDR experience who is confident practicing independently.

This position is part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a fuller caseload over time. We emphasize clinician wellness and discourage unsustainable caseloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions in alignment with trauma-informed, strengths-based practices through in-person and virtual therapy.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Regularly evaluate treatment progress and update clinical documentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the EHR system.
  • Participate in case consultation, team collaboration, and professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice, including HIPAA and state licensing board requirements.
  • Engage in crisis intervention strategies as needed to support clients in distress.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, families, and community providers as appropriate.
  • Support Flourish Wellness's mission by contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: 55–60% split, based on experience, specialty, and caseload.
  • Administrative Support: Billing, scheduling, referrals, and superbill/out-of-network support are handled for you, so you can focus on therapy, not admin work.
  • Marketing Assistance: Clients are referred to you through Flourish Wellness, and you'll be promoted through our website, SEO content, and strong online presence.
  • EHR Access: Streamlined electronic health records with scheduling and secure communication.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for continuing education, specialized training, and consultation.
  • Supervision: LCSW supervision is available for associate-level clinicians, if needed.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: A mix of in-office and telehealth sessions. After-school/early evening availability is needed to support our client population.
  • Supportive Team Culture: A small, collaborative environment with opportunities to connect, consult, and grow together.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Holds a current North Carolina license (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or related) or associate-level license in good standing.
  • Has experience treating trauma; EMDR training strongly preferred.
  • Brings additional specialty areas that align with our client population (DBT, IFS, play therapy, etc.).
  • Proficiency in crisis management and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and cultural humility.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through training and consultation.
  • Is professional, organized, and committed to ethical, high-quality care.
  • Is seeking a long-term role and is interested in growing with the practice.
