PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT – UNDERGROUND UTILITIES

Charlotte, NC | $105,000–$120,000 + Bonus Pool + Company Vehicle

I’m working with a growing electrical and underground utility contractor in Charlotte that’s looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations across its expanding project portfolio.

The work includes underground electrical infrastructure, duct banks, manholes, directional drilling, cable pulling and site lighting across commercial, healthcare, industrial and infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to run a jobsite, lead crews and subcontractors, and keep work moving safely and on schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take ownership of day-to-day field operations across underground utility projects.
• Lead crews and subcontractors, keeping productivity, safety and quality on track.
• Plan manpower, materials and equipment ahead of schedule.
• Coordinate work sequencing and daily activities to keep projects moving.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Work closely with Project Managers on schedules, progress and site issues.
• Coordinate inspections, deliveries and subcontractor activities.
• Identify and resolve field problems before they affect the schedule.
• Maintain high safety standards and ensure work meets project specifications.

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of construction field experience.
• Previous experience as a Project Superintendent, General Foreman or experienced Foreman.
• A background in underground utilities, underground electrical, civil infrastructure or similar construction.
• Experience with duct banks, conduit, manholes, directional drilling or related underground work is highly desirable.
• Ability to read plans, understand elevations and coordinate work sequencing.
• Proven experience leading crews and managing subcontractors.
• Someone who takes ownership, communicates well and keeps projects moving.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
