Forensics Subject Matter Experts

About the Positions
Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is seeking an experienced Forensics Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with expertise in Drug Chemistry to serve as advisors, trainers, and mentors. The SMEs will provide remote and in-country support to strengthen forensic capabilities in the Caribbean to meet international standards and acquire International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) forensic accreditation in The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Saint Lucia.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in forensic science in one of the following areas:
- Drug Chemistry: Controlled substance analysis experience within accredited forensic laboratory settings; proficient in chemical identification techniques, including GC-MS, FTIR, and presumptive testing; and have knowledge of quantitative analysis, sample preparation, chain of custody procedures, and quality control protocols.
- Drug Chemistry AND other forensic disciplines such as toxicology, or trace evidence analysis, with experience as a forensic scientist, technical leader, or laboratory supervisor and with expertise developing validation protocols and technical procedures for complex forensic testing, including experience training personnel and troubleshooting instruments.
- Willing and able to travel as required.
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
