About this opportunity

Job Description:

JINSA, a non-profit, non-partisan policy think tank focused on strengthening U.S. national security and the U.S.-Israel security relationship, seeks a full-time Digital Communications Associate to assist with the development and curation of JINSA’s social, video, and digital communications assets.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and executing digital communications strategies that strengthen JINSA’s visibility and credibility. The role will also support media relations efforts and work closely with JINSA’s policy and program departments to translate complex national security and foreign policy issues into compelling digital content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the organization’s social media content calendar in coordination with the Communications Director.
  • Create compelling, mission-driven social content, including producing short-form videos, that highlight JINSA’s experts, programs, and policy research.
  • Coordinate with JINSA scholars and staff to ensure timely dissemination of policy-relevant research and analysis.
  • Post, edit, and maintain content for the organization’s website.
  • Evaluate and refine JINSA’s social media strategy by reporting on performance using native analytics and adopting a test-and-learn approach.
  • Support the Communications Department’s day-to-day activities, including maintaining targeted press lists, monitoring and reporting media coverage, and drafting materials such as talking points, one-pagers, or press releases.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Political Science, International Relations, or related field.
  • Professional experience in national security, foreign policy, international affairs, or related policy fields, preferably with a think tank, government agency, nonprofit organization, advocacy organization, or other institution focused on these issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of U.S. foreign policy and national security issues, with an ability to quickly understand and communicate complex policy topics.
  • 1-2+ years of experience creating and editing graphics and videos for social media for a professional organization.
  • Expert and active user of multiple social platforms (e.g., X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook), with demonstrated social media content production experience for professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of digital publishing protocols and analytics such as Sprout Social or LinkedIn Analytics.
