Senior Staff Accountant

We are looking for a hands-on self-starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. The position will report to the Accounting Manager. 

Core Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and entering journal entries.
• Accounts Receivable: Ensure timely invoicing to customers, accurate application of customer payments, and prompt follow-up on past-due accounts.  
• Payroll: Process bi-weekly payroll with ADP software for approximately 50 employees. 
• Account Reconciliations: Perform bank and account reconciliations at each month-end.
• Audit & Compliance: Prepare workpapers and schedules assigned. Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.
• Taxation: Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. Coordinate with external tax team to prepare workpapers for federal and state tax filings.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with accounting and other departments, such as Sales, Production, and Engineering, to meet manufacturing schedules and support cost control initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Experience working in a public company preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Hands-on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred NetSuite.

Compensation & Benefits

Beam Global offers a competitive salary (range $85k to $110k based on experience) and benefits (medical, dental, vision, Life, LTD, STD) package including three weeks’ vacation, ten holidays and an equity incentive plan. The 401(k) Plan has a Company match and immediate vesting.
